Cold Harbor JD Rule

Set both in the American Civil War and in Lubec, Maine, the novel Cold Harbor tells of fierce and lasting loyalties, tender young love, and the history of a region that gave much. Not a fairy tale, the story includes eyewitness accounts of the brutality of the battlefield and how it shapes character, both of those who were there and those who loved them. Historical portions follow the 6th Maine Volunteer Infantry, in a carefully researched narrative. Work includes citations, end-notes, and an extensive bibliography.
