Ivy Weiss, a wedding minister from the Texas Hill Country, inexplicably finds herself face down in the snow with several gunshot wounds through the chest on Christmas morning in Slovakia. Ivy holds firm to her decision to accompany Karl to Slovakia to find her baby, calling it a Weiss decision to herself, but Karl can't help questioning why in the world he let her tag along as she is screwing up every move he makes.
