By this time, I had been pulled over more than 25x times in my first 6 years of driving. Literally once every three months on average. About 20% resulted in tickets. Half of those questionable.. My mom had just revealed to me that she had never been pulled over..ever.. When I realized there are many adults with the same or closely similar realities to hers, I was beyond confused. I carried the title of a Professional driver, and can proudly parallel park a bus. Yet it was regular for me. What am I missing? I reminisced of all the occasions. It all started with the 95' Thunderbird. That smooth dude with the coupe became my M/O. Growing up, learning shit the hard way was part of the process. They say experience is the best teacher. I couldn't agree more. I experienced what nobody told me. let's be honest, life is different for a young black man.. especially in a coupe! I like to live above limitations and find a way when there are none. I don't subscribe to the victim mentality, I wouldn't have gotten thus far if I had. As creative as I like to believe I am, I can't make this up. what's an Automatic Ticket? Hop in the coupe, take a trip down memory lane with me.
