The authors combined their 50-plus years of instructorship in Anatomy and Physiology to reinforce the concept of anatomical form fitting function, and forge a broader understanding of the interdependence of body systems with the rest of the natural world. Much of the subject matter they have crystallized to the essentials that students are required know, and emphasis is placed on details often overlooked in their study. This book capitalizes on an excellent early-learning modality involving the combined use of visual and motor centers within the brain. Each page presents a single anatomical or physiological concept in the appropriate style, format and size that is most conducive to efficient learning. The text-guided page which accompanies each exercise, not only walks the student through the exercise, but also provides additional key information for ancillary learning. Each exercise requires two sets of motor responses: one for number-matching structures with their correct label and the other for coloring the structure and color-coding the label. Although other anatomy study guides and workbooks are available, this one stands out because of its: (1) clarity (2) larger label-guided diagrams (3) its learning-friendly style and format and (4) its utilization of learning modalities common to the brain.
