Anna-May Jones is a thirty-five-year-old, tenacious career woman who finds herself on the verge of giving up on love after her fiancé runs off with one of her relatives.

Devastated, she presses onward, and in the month of May a good looking marine, John Wesley, bombards her life in an unusual way. They fall in love, but obstacles such as Anna's difficult mother and the war overseas try to disrupt the love that God ordained.
