I was born on Oct 23,1962 . It was also 23 years ago when i had experienced hell for 29 days for simply defending myself. The American Penal system is designed to keep men of color victimized by exercising the right to hold back opportunities. In order to have black men stay for long periods of time in the system. When you are a law abiding citizen you shouldn't have to go to jail for self defense. But for most African American men, that is exactly what happens, whether president Obama is in office or not. The main reason why i wrote this book was to explain what really happen to me in jail. I'm truly happy to share my story and to be a part of the writing community.- Author Shane A. Lee.
