Gods, fallen angels, and the hidden world of the Fae clash as the Winter Queen begins a civil war with the Summer Queen, seeking to rule in a world of permanent Winter. Fallen angel, Azazel, and Greek god Hermes join the Winter Queen, stealing the power of the Titans in return for the resurrection of Azazel's demi-god children, the Nephilim. Shemyaza, another fallen angel, fights for the Summer Queen with reluctant assistance from the Greek goddess Hecate, forcing her to help him by possessing the body of her lover. Through modern city streets and pristine forests of the spirit world, battle rages as the forces of Winter seek to dominate the people of Summer.
