Determined to find true happiness, William leaves his complicated life behind and sets off to pursue his own pleasures. One minute he is riding through his beloved medieval forest, the next minute he finds himself hooded and chained to the ground, unable to escape. Frustrated, he eventually determines his captor to be a woman; she is heavily armored, something quite unusual for these simpler times when gender roles were clearly defined. But eventually he comes to know deeply his strange captor, her true intentions and the seriousness of her own plight. Sarah, for that's her name, needs his help, and she asks that William help her conquer a hissing, snarling, fire vomiting flesh and blood dragon. Failure to bring the dragon to its reptilian knees has massive implications for both Sarah and William. But there is quite a puzzle here. What is the true source of the dragon's power? The nature of the ancient spell that makes the dragon real is made clear only when the heat of battle reveals it. And the knowledge of it almost comes too late! This love story seems simple at the outset. But like any good story, elements pop up along the way that greatly complicate the future happiness, if there should even be a future happiness, for our two lovers. In the tradition of a great romance, the story ends most satisfyingly. But the road to the end is difficult. It will be quite a ride for our heroes as they finally find true happiness in the stirring glory of victory. SEQUEL: The sequel to this story is the book, "Dragon Boy," where knights and dragons find reality in the 21st Century, and where romance, once again, saves the day!
