Irene Wilson thought that she'd fallen on her feet when she met crime boss Niall Murphy. The fact that he was old, boring and unpleasant to look at, didn't bother her. She was used to this way of life, and it was just a means towards an end. When he died suddenly she was left virtually penniless. Niall was her son Mark's father, and she didn't see why he shouldn't get his inheritance. She was smart enough to know that his family weren't going to offer her anything, so she made up her mind that she would send her son Mark to infiltrate the London firm, and learn how to bring them down. Unfortunately there was a rather large secret that Mark hadn't divulged to his mother, and when it got out both of them were forced to go on the run. They decide to approach the London firm's biggest rival for help, not realising that they faced even more danger from him.
