Kate Henry has experienced many tragedies, but faces them rather than allowing them to destroy her. She seeks God's guidance in her choice to pray and move on in accordance with God's will. Rather than be bitter, she forgives her unfaithful husband. They are divorced and he moves on with his pregnant lover. She prays, becomes involved in Bible study, and makes a life for her son Carey. Kate's life is changed when her mother break's her leg. Fire in her apartment complex adds more uncertainty to her life, but she continues to pray and make choices.
