The baby's middle name, Celeste, became so much more than a last request. It was as if Dyan's mother knew something that everyone else had yet to find out. A mother of three and a military wife, Dyan's life was full of adventure and happiness. After several years of brutal winters in Wisconsin, a move to Puerto Rico was going to be the tropical paradise Dyan had dreamed of for her family. But her dream came to a crashing halt when the death of her grandmother was followed by her twelve-year-old daughter Amarissa's diagnosis with lupus. Hope diminished when those who Dyan thought she could count on during that time did the unimaginable. In her darkest hours, Dyan was faced with having to surrender as Amarissa decided whether to let go of her life and die or continue to fight. A visit to the "place you go before heaven" and a wish granted led Dyan and her family down a path they never could have imagined. Out of the darkness they not only found hope but also received an opportunity to share it with so many.
