Leonardo Carzoli and Sruthan have a strange relationship. Leo is a primitive ulfheonar shifter who was born as a Druid king. When he shifted he imprinted on the red dragon Sruthan and made him the lord of the dog. That was seven centuries ago at a lonely moor castle. Living as businessmen in Phoenix, Arizona in 2016 may have hidden the immortal shifters and cast a normal veneer over them, but it has not altered the past or who and what the two men really are. When Leo finds everything in a woman working at a local coffee shop, Sruthan offers to help him win her. Leo makes a serious mistake, but when Valerie is abducted the chase to save her is on. Sruthan finds the greatest treasure suffering in the house of horrors to which they tracked Valerie. The stakes in the game are raised again when the magic begins calling the dragon to serve and he nearly collides with other dragons that are scouting the house for Draoithe on a mission to rescue an underking's friends. Rescuing their mates is only the beginning. As Luke wants no loose ends and all of Peter Elliot's men rounded up, Leo and Sruthran are only too happy to aid their new home in their own quest for vengeance.
