Anne Bront "e's The Tenant of Wildfell Hall , was a dramatic challenge to Victorian conventions. It portrays the independent Helen Huntingdon, who chooses to leave her dissolute husband and rescue their son from his influence, determining to make her own way in the world. This selection of the Bront "e's work demonstrates the remarkable range of their powers. No one had achieved such a combination of realism and romance before, and these novels are among the greatest of the nineteenth century. This book is intended for general readers.
