Retiring for a more peaceful life after some 20 years of combating international terrorism abroad with the CIA, John Harlan returns to his hometown, Lexington, Kentucky. He fines it, and increasingly the country as a whole, in turmoil and flooded with recent immigrants. The wanton murder of his father-in-law and attacks on his wife and himself soon thrust him back into the world of intrigue and terror. Unable to rely on a police force overwhelmed by rampant crime and civil unrest, Harlan is left to his own devices to find the murderer and defend his family.
