Michael dreamed of a life outside of the subterranean bunker that had protected his people for decades from the biological weapon unleashed by international terrorists in the year 2015. He didn't believe the Elders who maintained that the cataclysm had rendered the outside world uninhabitable. His love for the Mayor's daughter Betsy was the only thing that stayed his hand. When the Mayor plots Michael's execution, Betsy defies her father and helps Michael escape. Despondent that Betsy would not abandon her villainous father to accompany him, Michael journeys into the harsh unforgiving winter of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. An unlikely stranger rescues Michael from the elements and sets in motion a chain of events that will rally the American survivors of the cataclysm to oppose the Islamic fundamentalist invaders who have sworn to prevent the rebirth of the United States of America. For this task, Michael has been chosen.
