EWN-synopsis EARTH WEEPS NOT is about 130,000 words and as printed 468 pages long. I could tell you that Earth Weeps Not is a story about an invasion by space aliens during a worldwide dystopian economic malaise, but that would sound too much like current events, and those of you looking for interesting science fiction wouldn?t buy the book. What I should say is that sixteen weary spacefarers washed up on our shore. They were hoping for three months of shore leave, but their brash approach to First Contact was misunderstood by us, and we attacked them. Not deterred, they invaded a small isle way out in the south pacific. However they shortly discover that being an Alien in an alien land has numerous drawbacks. They formulate a plan? In the mix, our protagonist, a Dr. John Parker, gets alien-napped and taken to their island. John enjoys many wonderful and just plain Out of this World times living with them. In time, by way of his attempts, albeit misguided, the aliens become our friends. No friendship is without mournful events. As feared by our military contamination from exposure to these god-like beings leads to disaster. John is injured and his psyche irreparably changed. Mankind?s loss of innocence comes as a slap so terrible the survival of our species is brought into question. As friends the aliens offer our civilization help. Is their intent to save us from our short sidedness, or is this just a ruse which will enable them to conquer Earth? The answer to that question is profound, but in order to find out what it is you will have to buy the book. Don Tynan
