I Can Fly is a proudly South African story: a beautiful, full-colour children's book written by clinical Psychologist and play therapist, Dr Jana Lazarus (Dr Zizz) that delivers an uplifting message to children in these challenging times. It tells the true tale of a social circus in Cape Town called Zip Zap, where all the performers are children! Lucky Mtuff learns that we make our own luck with tenacity, gumption, and a little help from our friends. Despite a rough start in life, he seizes an opportunity and through this interaction, his journey takes a fortunate turn. He ultimately learns new skills, finds a new family and a sense of belonging through the circus. His story is synonymous with many other youth-at-risk who have passed through the doors of the extraordinary Zip Zap Social Circus. Our book is designed to inspire children to dare to dream and to remind them that anything is possible if you believe in your dream. Illustrated by one of Zip Zap's talented young circus performers, Ayanda Nombelwu, with proceeds ploughed back into helping Zip Zap's outreach programmes continue their life-changing work.
