A family struggles to rebuild their lives after a mysterious tragedy alters the course of their existence. Ellen Andress awakens from a drug-induced stupor to discover that she has been kidnapped by people who have ties to the Middle East. Once Ellen is taken back to where she was taken, she is unknowingly deceived by men posing as Special FBI agents. They place her and her family into the Federal Witness Protection Program, confiscating all of their possessions. With no income and a new identity, Ellen must generate money quickly. She then enters the perilous world of horse racing, wagering, and hi-stakes betting. When she can't reach the FBI agents, she contacts the CIA, where she learns that something big is going down, but what?
