Where Does the Sun Set Anton Evans
Where Does the Sun Set
Anton Evans
This moving and inspirational autobiography tells of the life of a young boy growing up with Morquio's Syndrome - a rare disorder that endowed him with various disabilities. 'Where Does the Sun Set?' Anton asked his parents when he was a young child recovering from an operation in Great Ormond Street Hospital, wanting to know in which direction he should look in the evening when he was thinking of his family and his home. Anton takes his readers with him and his parents on their journey to find out about and tackle the disability he was born with. The book tells of his life from birth to the present day, and we learn how he has become a successful businessman and a committed fundraiser for charity, despite all the physical difficulties he has faced over the years. Anton has never forgotten the time he spent in hospital as a young boy, and the medical staff who looked after him then. All the profits from this book will be donated to Great Ormond Street and to the Children's Trust, which is based at Tadworth Court, the erstwhile 'country branch' of GOSH. The subject matter of this book makes for a gruelling read at times, but it is ultimately an uplifting and worthwhile story. 'Where Does the Sun Set?' is not only a useful guide to other disabled children and their parents trying to make the most of their situation in life, but also a riveting read for any person who is interested in discovering what makes other human beings tick.
