Concept: A quest to learn what it means to be human Sage Washington must find a way to change what she believes will be the inhumane future those who seek to control Immortals intend to bring about. But first she must understand what it means to be human. She quickly comes to understand it is driven by love and hate, both of which result from emotions. Unfortunately emotions are biologically derived. Immortal responses are the result of memories, if they have them or look to them for guidance. How can she find a way to enable someone who is barely human, as her father describes her, to act in a humane way?
