Sally Boyce Rainey adores the wind in her hair, and the growl of her Duluth Roadster.

To promote their fledgling automotive business, Sally's husband, Jeff, builds a car to race in the 1939 Indy 500. During testing, they discover that Sally is by far the best driver, but does she have what it takes to race wheel-to-wheel with her domineering ex-fiancé, Gary Neylands? Gary is ruthless and will stop at nothing to win the race.
