Berta Mast is dying. Since one of her twin sons refuses to come home to see her before she dies, her other twin, Robert, decides to do something about it. He'll impersonate his brother. They used to do it as children, and it always worked. Now, with the stakes much higher, he does it again. His motivation is pure: he wants to comfort his mother by allowing her to see both her sons before she passes. But Robert doesn't realize the implications. Now, he has to pretend to court Lindy instead of her sister Rachel. And when Lindy discovers his deception, he wants her to go along with it, which means lying.
