I Am Special is a simple to read book that emphasizes that it is not what we do or our unique physical attributes that makes us special. It is solely because each of us is uniquely formed by God and God does not make mistakes. Teaching your child values begins with a child's understanding of who they are and therefore, from where those values originate. To understand that we are unique individuals formed by the Most High God gives your child an understanding of their immense value. No other creature was created in the image of God. Our self-esteem or self-worth should not be based on what we do or by any special talent or ability. Something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. God not only created one of each of us, but shows how valuable we are to Him by sending His Son to die for us.
