Zenia escaped from a concentration camp where super humans were tested to destruction. With her power of teleportation, Zenia became a reluctant participant with other heroes opposed to the legions led by the enigmatic Empress. Across this changed, hostile world, Zenia and her companions met other outcast heroes. Among them were Macromind and Beacon, two members of the Superstars, the world's primary team of heroes, Touchstone and Belladonna, refugees from an alternate Earth, and the Seven Thousand, a guerilla resistance from a dark page of their pasts.
