But, in the nearly three centuries since itas departure, not a single world has been ravaged by the Garshans. Now, the few remaining civilized worlds have begun the slow task of rebuilding an interstellar society, but this time around, the powers that be have decided to due things alittle differently. Having unlocked the technology of the trans-mat booths that littered the small Dyson sphere known as aCentera, giant archways, or atele-gatesa have been built on almost every world, and once again freight and people move across the cosmos. Only this time, the freight and people go by car, train and truck... This is the tale of a couple of those people...
