Why Me Alice Leonard Walker

I live in Texas and am opening an afterschool program designed to help our children see the provocative nature of Youtube videos. We see the violent news reports, the disregard for authority, and the seeming lack of concern for the future. We must alter the "expected end" and the society's perception of our children as dangers to society and a ball of sex crazed, drug influenced consumers. We must create change, positive change. We must demonstrate to the world that our children are more that than just the consumers that society conditions them to be. We must plant the seeds of hope and faith to create the fruit that our children can produce within their hearts. We must address the social and economic challenges as well as the psychological perspectives portrayed in the media and through a society that has all but written them off.
