While gathering wood, less than an hour passes when George begins feeling uneasy. He starts glancing behind them. They are well off the path, further into the forest and the shadows it affords. "Show me your hands!" A man's deep voice demands from behind them. The two stiffen and freeze, his friend's hands are already glowing. Slowly, the boy turns towards the voice. A man wearing a solid black cloak stands in the shadows behind them. The hood, pulled up high, covers his face. "Go away and leave us alone!" George shouts then whistles loudly for the dog. Dropping all but one stick to use as a weapon, he jumps in front of the Spirit Healer.
