Eight decades ago: the Balkans, the beginning of April, 1941. The small but tenacious Greek army has for months been struggling desperately to fight off Benito Mussolini's more modern, mechanized Italian divisions coming down out of Albania. In the early morning of April 6th though, the Greeks are dealt a shattering blow: Adolf Hitler has decided to bail out his ally and declare war on the Greeks. As German panzers storm over Greece's northern border, the powerful Luftwaffe begins its relentless assault from the skies above. This is the true story leading up to, surrounding, and following that hectic first night. It details the surprisingly massive destruction that was brought on by one daring, ambitious German pilot, and the disruption that it caused to the now-doomed Greek war effort.
