This book is about a ten-year-old girl that was full of joy, who loved going to school, and who loved people. That was until her stepfather took that away from her one night as her mother put everyone to bed. But before she did, she said the prayers, and she read the Bible to them.

After everyone went to sleep, this little girl whose name was Jane heard someone calling her. She was in a daze from a deep sleep. He told her to come down Jane always obeyed orders, so she came downstairs and looked up at him. He told her to go into that dark room.

When Jane asked why, he said, "Just go back there."

She did not know what would happen next to her little body.

What I want the readers to see is what a child went through when she tried to tell someone and no one would listen.
