This little story is about the first Christmas. Perhaps you might read it to a small child, but maybe it needs to be read to the small child within you. You know the one I mean. The little boy or girl you once were, the one who believed - but may just have forgotten - what Christmas is really about. Our story begins long ago in a town called Bethlehem where there lived an old innkeeper and his wife. We all know the place, we all know the story, from the songs and carols we learned when we were young. But there's another tale to tell about three animals that needed to learn a lesson about what was really important in life, and a little caterpillar who reminded them of what that was.
