As of today, the census in India shows a ratio of 940 girls per thousand boys. The killing of infant girls has been going on for generations, even after many laws were passed to stop it. Things have got better, but this latest figure is still an eye opener. The survival of females has been endangered by a selfish and prejudiced mind set. My purpose as a writer is to voice the hidden realities of our society that women have endured for generations. To give courage and empowerment, to finally end these atrocities that deeply blemish our existence, as civilized beings. Some people in countries, such as India and China, still freely go about killing female fetuses and newborn infants. This book is my attempt to save the girl child.
