Times are changing



Alicia's beloved little brother has been stolen right out from under her nose! She has no idea who the culprits are, but they are most certainly travellers. Alicia and Matthias are on a journey into the past once more, but this time Matthew is along for the ride too. They land in a time when a great and dangerous man Elias Arthur, makes the rules and decisions. He is the very man that Matthew has been researching! He is on a mission to gather all accused witches and conjurers to him. Whether or not they are actually gifted with supernatural abilities, if they are suspected they are incarcerated or worse.



It does not take Alicia long to discover that Travis is in his possession and the people who took him did so out of desperation. With the worship of those who hide away from Elias, and the hatred of the townspeople, Alicia, Matthias, and Matthew are in a difficult situation. Eventually Alicia realizes there is only one way to save Travis, by letting herself be captured.



Once inside the walls of the jail that Elias runs, he finds her to be very interesting. He can tell there is something different about her and begins to thoroughly question her about where she has come from. He easily makes the connection between her and the young boy he had recently acquired. After her first encounter with Raphael, a terrifying guard within the jail who was tasked with the role of getting information out of prisoners, Alicia is growing more hopeless by the moment. Until she senses Travis' presence. She knows her brother is alive, for the moment.



What can she do to save him while she is in a jail cell of her own? Matthias and Matthew confront one another for the first time on the truth about Matthew's abilities, and the tension between them threatens to derail their efforts to save Alicia and Travis. Even as they are all in the past trying to save Travis, the future is catching up with them. The burst of energy set off by the three of them traveling is drawing the attention of the hunters that still seek out Alicia and Travis.



Shifting sands



* Time is ticking by, and it is clear that if the travellers do not return soon, they may never return at all. Alicia is faced with the force of her brother's abilities, and the guilt that she still carries about his limitations. With the world of the past closing in around them, and the predators of the present drawing near as well, will the three be able to come together and defeat Elias Arthur before all the conjurers are wiped out once and for all?

In this story Alicia faces the greatest foe of all, a man who believes that he is doing the work of God by attacking the vulnerable and different of his time. He is more than happy to destroy Alicia, Matthias, and Matthew as well.
