First Focus Learning Systems has established a method for "Learning to Read" by organizing the complicated English language into a sequenced order of skill concepts that allows simple rules to be applied with quick success. These skill concepts are incorporated on Charts from 1-10. This Course Book covers Charts 1-3.

All the First Focus Reading System's practice materials and books are coordinated with specific reading skill charts. The practice materials are designed with steps to evaluate a student's knowledge of the concepts taught on each chart. The students are motivated to practice with the goal of mastering the concepts and progressing to the next level.

First Focus practice materials are designed so students use all five modalities; seeing, hearing, touching, speaking and writing. As a supplement to the Course Book, the First Focus Reading System offers interactive materials which tap into all of a student's senses to create a complete learning experience. Additionally, teachers are provided many options to meet the needs of each student in a classroom setting or during one-on-one teaching.
