Perspective is written to present an examination of and a biblical perspective to the foundation and heritage of America as well as our way of life, relationships, the church, social issues, government, politics, leadership, the judiciary and our nations founding documents. It is presented to challenge and stimulate our thinking in hopes of shinning some light on the implications of our notions and decisions. Perspective is the relation of parts to one another and to the whole! It is written in an attempt to contrast the secular humanist and the Christian world-views, their distinctively different foundations and the implications of each as they impact each of us and the direction of our nation. Perspective is a compilation of my faith, experience, hopes and whatever wisdom God may have given me. My hope is that those who read "perspective" will test the Spirit in which it is written and take up the cause to preserve truth, freedom our precious faith and our Christian testimony. Lt. Col Charles D. Gaines began life as a farm boy born near the small town community of Herman Nebraska on October 21, 1933. He graduated from Beatrice High in South Eastern Nebraska and went on to graduate from the Air Force Aviation Cadet program in March of 1955. Col. Gaines holds three flight ratings, Pilot, Navigator and Bombardier, and has logged over 20,000 flying hours. Much of his flying career he served in the Strategic Air Command where he piloted the B-47 and the KC-135 aircraft. He served five tours of duty in Vietnam during which he flew 300 combat missions in several different airplanes. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Bronze Star Medal, the Air Medal with 5 oak leaf clusters and several other distinguished service medals during his military service. He retired from the Air Force in 1973 to serve as the CFO of a national brokerage firm and five years later founded STI, Solar Tech International Inc. He was the founding Pastor of two Churches in California and has served as an ordained Pastor for more than 20 years. He and his wife Lois have been married 51 years. They have three children and nine grand children who all currently reside in Northern California.
