The author shares her life story, giving hope and light to any person who is currently in the dark. The author is very open and honest about her past mistakes and failures. She is being very brave in telling her readers everything so that her testimony is powerful and God is glorified. People will identify with the child she was and will know that they have a future too ? one that is found in God. In the wisdom of her hindsight, the author presents a very balanced retelling of her life. She acknowledges both the good and the bad. In autobiographies people tend to write as though part one was all bad and part two was all good. This book is more realistic in the sense that the author shares both positive and negative aspects throughout the book. The author has a unique way of writing that really gives readers a sense of her personality and sets the book apart from other autobiographic testimonials. For example, phrases such as ?I cried and repented and repented and cried? are quite endearing in the bigger picture of the book. The author will become very dear to the readers as they get further and further into her story.
