Tightening her robe about her and tying the belt, she unlocked the deadbolt on the kitchen door and pulled it open. Standing just outside, clipboard in hand, was the man from Bolden Pools. He looked up at her as she caught sight of him. He was not, she decided instantly, "not much to look at," as he had described himself. In fact he was a lot to look at: well-muscled, average height, slender and tan with a shock of dark brown hair and the beginnings of a beard he obviously kept closely trimmed.
