Some discoveries have the potential to change the world, and Tucker and Maya's could be a spectacular gain for all mankind. The world is often zero-sum, though, where one person's gain is another's loss, and there are a number of countries that would kill to keep their breakthrough from coming to light. Russia and The Consortium of Nations will do anything to keep the development under wraps, while the Chinese are desperate to acquire it for themselves. Instead of basking in the glory of their tremendous advance, Tucker is forced to apply all his skills, training, and courage just to stay alive.
