STR8 BOLT is a multi-plot suspense thriller, which begins with an unusual phenomenon, a straight lightning bolt. When this occurs, anyone close to the rare lightning strike will be sent backwards or forwards in time depending on the origination of the lightning bolt; ground or atmosphere. The intensity of the bolt determines how far in time the traveler is sent. Three characters, Wyatt Coleman, Jennifer Tomas, and Elisaio Munoz, each were unfortunate enough to be at the right place but at the wrong time. Present day scientist, Dr. Rajiv Ramakrishnan, developed a machine, with the acronym named STR8 BOLT, capable of replicating the effects of a straight lightning bolt. In the experimental stages he and his assistant, Tim MacCorrmack, are formulating a hypothesis for testing and controlling the machines' abilities and potentials for experimental time travel. Believing people have been sent back in time because of this natural phenomena, Dr. Ramakrishnan researches missing persons records and locates one-time traveler, a dangerous drug dealer named Elisaio Munoz. Jennifer Tomas, who traveled the furthest back in time from 1991 to 1968, is suddenly faced with no family or friends and must adapt to her unusual predicament. Knowing what the future holds she turns her life around and becomes a successful restaurant owner. Just when she thinks her new life is going well, the introduction of an unforeseen man changes everything. Wyatt Coleman who recently went through his third divorce in 1999 became a truck driver to escape the chaotic instability of his life. Wanted by the Colorado State Troopers after being discovered nearly dead and naked in a snowbank, escaped from the Vail hospital where he was being detained. On the run he heads to California where he changes his name then makes several good investments in the stock market and lived an entirely new life again in 1970. With action, suspense, numerous twists and turns, and unexpected revelations STR8 BOLT takes the reader on a never-ending journey of "What If's," evoking thoughts of what they would do if by coincidence were in the same situation. Being the first novel in the series, STR8 BOLT establishes the foundation for this time travel trilogy with "Second Bolt" and "Third Strike" completing the journey.
