"A modern-day Tom Sawyer come to life"
From TALES OF WHOA:

It was a pitch black night and when the road suddenly dropped out of sight, my passengers screamed for all they were worth. This is just what I had hoped for. Our initial launch was a decent one with a good six feet of air under us as we topped the first invisible hill. I noted a rich, vibrant "WHOA" filling the vehicle. Two of the three boys very satisfyingly banged their heads against the roof. Unfortunately, the other had the presence of mind to grab and hang onto a seatbelt. I thought I had hid them all.

From STAGE COACH:

Birth-dad is a delightful creature with the IQ of a ptarmigan, thus making it difficult to justify strangulation. Hitting him is still okay, but it should be done lightly. Birth-dad communication is reduced to single syllable nonsense sounds and goofy grimaces that can be loosely interpreted as smiles. Birth-mom: Don't worry, these grimaces are rarely fatal since babies are born with lousy eyesight and are fully immune to such displays.

From BEAT AROUND THE BUSH:

Some time ago, a man picked up a rock and said, "This is a rock." It promptly slipped out of his hands, bounced off his hip, scraped down the length of his shin, and fell directly onto his foot, breaking two toes. The man said, "My mistake, this must be a tool." Such was my own relationship with these labor causing devices.

The final volume of the Light Trilogy, covering ages thirty-two to fifty-five. A collection of twenty-four true and embarrassingly funny stories, many of which should only be read when everyone in the house is awake. Careful, you may just find yourself laughing into the wee hours and disturbing someone's slumber.
