The Darkness within is a horror anthology and is an amalgamation of cultures from across the world incorporating elements ranging from blood curses to possession and the human mind. The book consists of 8 chapters; each with its unique world and characters, facing complex issues either from their past or are drawn into a world out of chance. Chapter 1- The Darkness Within: The first story is about a struggling writer whose past comes back to haunt him when a person releases a blood curse on him, eventually leading to the protagonists downfall. The story takes elements from Jewish culture and mixes it with characteristics found in Indonesian folklore. Chapter 2- A Chance Encounter: The second story is about a young woman who happens to come face to face with a being found in Asian folklore. The story explores how the young woman and her companion try to fight the situation till it ultimately claims one of them. Chapter 3- The Child Within: The third story mixes elements from the western world and the Middle East to create a story of an incurable possession unleashed upon an unsuspecting person. Featuring Islamic folklore; the story is about an ancient curse that very few know about. Chapter 4- The Priest: The priest is the story of a young boy who comes back to avenge the death of his mother at the hands of a Tibetan Lama. The story makes heavy use of Chinese folklore and incorporates elements of action to weave a story of vengeance and longing. Chapter 5- The Game: The story introduces a Russian Parapsychologist who becomes a victim of his past when a woman comes knocking at his doorstep. The story has elements of suspense and gore which drives the story forward. Chapter 6- Damori: It is a story of a vengeful spirit found in Indian folklore. The protagonist is a young and successful Hollywood star who becomes the victim of her own creation on her visit to India on a shoot. Chapter 7- The Visitor: The story deals with the Illuminati and the New World Order and explores a fictional understanding of their true intentions. The protagonist is a thief who gets sucked into a deadly game before the final revelation. Chapter 8- The Curious Case of Michael McKenzie: This chapter is a psychological thriller delving deep into the annals of the human mind. It's more of mystery than supernatural and introduces a gay couple whose romance ends in a tragedy.
