Mayo Park was once a flood prone waste land. It would go on to become a significant part of the history of Rochester. The formative years loaded with setbacks. The Park, as proposed in 1906, virtually wiped out by the 1908 flood. Yet three years later, the place becomes a thing of beauty through the determination and effort of community and civic leaders.
