On the planet Dalantan, the opposing forces of rival kingdoms threaten to tear apart the entire world order-all over a prophecy considered foolish. Wenha Tellis, a village girl, is pulled into the madness by a charlatan wizard who convinces her she is integral to Dalantan's future. Hunted by the evil Salamandran and the equally-vicious Tri-Boar King, Wenha, and the planet, are plunged into adventure, madness, and war over ancient superstitions and new prejudices. "The Fire Mountains" is an ode to Burroughs and Kline, adventure serials, pulp comics and space opera, with an added 21st century kick of conscience.
