The sequel to Cryogenesis and the second in the Tech Hunter series, the story of Warden takes place between a futuristic Earth in ruins and the expansive band of wreckage that orbits the planet.

Baxel, a young and defiant explorer, ventures far beyond his people's orbit-locked settlement of Safe Harbor in search of undiscovered supplies or salvage. He instead finds something not seen for centuries: a series of Cryopods. After a prominent leader of Safe Harbor is found dead, it comes down to Baxel to find the connection between the Cryopods and the person manipulating Baxel's people to betray their own sacred ways.

At the same time, a mysterious Sky Flare falls from orbit into the territory of Reclaim. The tech hunter, Kara, adamantly refuses to help Norclave in the perilous task of seeking out this object. However, when Norclave's Cryo becomes the target of an assassination, Kara vows to stop at nothing-not even the walls of Reclaim-to hunt down whoever is responsible.

As Kara and Baxel seek out their own truths, they both find that the world is far larger than either had ever expected.
