Lucy is twenty-three, Jewish, dating a Ph. D. student named Cecil, and vacationing with her cousin, Charlotte, when two things happen that will disrupt everything: a global pandemic, and a young man named George. A literary mash-up adaptation of A Room with a View (with thinly veiled bits and pieces of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz in the middle part), set in the present day during the coronavirus crisis, The Why & The Yes is a romantic tragicomedy about love in the time of Covid-19, double rainbows, the importance of conducting thorough tick-checks, and embracing "yes" while asking "why?"
