This study shows the value of 'themes' in the study of Scripture. That is, take a subject and follow it through. Here the theme of 'time' is looked at throughout John's Gospel. However, this is more than just a study of 'time'. As she progresses through John's Gospel the author explains what she is doing and why she is doing it. These methods can then be used and applied by readers to any specific subjects or particular themes they may be interested in pursuing.
