All Caleb wants is to finish high school and reopen his dad's music shop. With some help from his friends and fellow music lovers Tori and Dex, Caleb's plans are coming together. But when a freak meteorite destroys Alto's Music, Caleb is left with nothing-except for a mint-condition guitar he finds in the crater.

Not long after Caleb discovers the guitar gives him extraordinary powers, extraterrestrial robots try to kill him. But when a band of instrument-wielding aliens known as Composers intervenes, Caleb learns his guitar is a powerful weapon capable of channeling cosmic energy through music. Now Caleb finds himself in the middle of the Composers' interstellar war against the Synthesizers: sentient machines bent on conquering the galaxy with techno.

As the Synthesizers turn their focus on Earth, Caleb, Tori, and Dex must join forces with the Composers to stop an electronica-fueled robot invasion. Armed with his new guitar and a repertoire of classic rock, all Caleb has are six strings to save the world.
