The World Prison Brief's data estimates the U. S. incarceration rate at 639 inmates per 100,000 people as of 2018. In addition to its high incarceration rate, the U. S. also has the most significant overall number of people behind bars, with more than 2 million jail and prison inmates. This leaves husbands, wives, mothers, fathers, sons, daughters - the list goes on and on. Due to incarceration, being away from your loved ones leaves a hole where comfort and support used to be. Thoughts from the Inside is a co-branded motivational journal designed to give a voice to those who are incarcerated and the loved ones living through incarceration with them with the "Thoughts from the Outside" journal.
