This is just one of the three-line poems Will Canter includes in his new poetry collection, A Lilt in Time. Taking inspiration from the ancient poetic style of haiku, Canter separates much of his work into three lines with syllable counts of three, five, and eight respectively-a method that effectively conveys complex ideas in short verse and uses the golden ratio to create an appealing, visceral rhythmic beat.
