Madison Braack is a professional, capable community leader. She feels like she owes it to her family, friends, and hometown to be happy, involved, and amazing, but she just can't do it anymore. She leaves everything she's known and moves to a small island in the Puget Sound to privately wallow in depression and to experience the worst life has to offer. She meticulously plans her own breakdown, covering the where, when and why without telling anyone. She specifies the how of her despondency down to the taste of bad coffee. But just like life, the best laid plans to become deliberately undone may not work out when she finds herself involved in the daily lives of a quirky bunch of islanders.
