Josey struggles in her pre-teen years to be an authentic part of her world, however she is catapulted into the Ancient Egyptian World of the XXIVth Dynasty, where she is a target for a ruthless woman. At first, being in Egypt seems like the ultimate archaeological adventure, but her most valuable experiences are not intellectual. Later, she realises these experiences and people helped her cope with her tragic future. Gradually, Josey develops a strong sense of purpose for her life, but Todd, the love of her life, is stubborn and seems to be tied to his mother's social ambitions for him. Change in Todd's life comes from an unexpected source. Josey too has lessons to learn, even time travel lessons which is something she thought she knew a thing or two about because of Egypt. Life brings good and bad events, Josey proves equal to each circumstance, though the personal and physical cost is high. Being a gifted time traveller does not mean life is easy.
